Privacy
Your details, plainly.
What I keep when you plan a trip or join the letter, why, who helps me, and how to have it deleted. Brands I work with never get your details: they only see totals, like how many guides recommended them.

Who's responsible
Emma Irene Collective is run by Emma Irene Udchitz in Copenhagen, Denmark, who is responsible for your personal data (the data controller). Write to ei@emmairenecollective.com with any question or request.
What I keep, and why
- When you create a trip
Your first name and email, and your answers: where and when you're going, who's travelling and their ages, interests, pace, meals, budget, food preference, where you're staying, your notes and the trip's name. If you choose to, the city you live in.
Why: To write your guide, email it to you, make a walking map if you ask for one, and email you once after the trip to ask how it went.
You asked for the guide (GDPR article 6(1)(b)).
- The letter
Your email, first name, which guide you made and when your trip ends, plus a few of your answers (interests, ages, who you travel with, budget, food preference, maps app and the city you live in).
Why: To send you new guides, invitations to events near you, and now and then an offer from a brand I work with, chosen to fit you. Only if you tick the box: your guide is free either way.
Your consent (article 6(1)(a)), confirmed by email. Every letter has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- A guide made with me
Your name, email, destination, when you're going and your message.
Why: To answer you and plan the guide together.
You asked me to (article 6(1)(b)).
- After your trip
What you thought of each place, and your note if you write one.
Why: To keep the guides good: places few people love get a second look.
You choose to answer (article 6(1)(a)).
- Keeping the site fair
A scrambled version of your network address (it can't be turned back into the address), stored with your guide. And when someone taps a "Book here" link in a guide: which guide and which place, nothing about the person.
Why: To limit how many guides can be made from one network, so the site stays free and isn't misused. Taps are counted for partner reports as totals.
My legitimate interest in keeping the service running (article 6(1)(f)).
Who helps me
These services handle your details for me, only to do their part and under a data processing agreement. When data goes to the USA, it’s protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU’s standard contractual clauses.
| Service | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | The database where guides and sign-ups are kept | Frankfurt, EU |
| Vercel | Runs the website | Servers in Frankfurt; a US company |
| Anthropic | The AI that writes your guide from your answers and first name. It doesn't use them to train its models | USA |
| Resend | Sends the guide and other emails | USA |
| Kit | Sends the letter and keeps the list of subscribers | USA |
Map pins for my places come from Google Maps; that holds nothing about you. When the homepage shows my latest Instagram posts, the pictures load from Instagram.
Cookies
No tracking cookies, no ads and no analytics that follow you around. Your browser remembers when the site last suggested the letter, so it doesn’t ask again for a while. That stays on your device.
How long
- Your guide and answers are kept so your guide’s link keeps working. Ask, and I’ll delete them.
- The letter: until you unsubscribe.
- A guide made with me: as long as we’re in touch, and if you pay, as long as Danish bookkeeping rules require.
Your rights
You can ask to see what I have about you, have it corrected or deleted, get a copy to take elsewhere, object to how it’s used, and take back your consent at any time. Write to ei@emmairenecollective.com and I’ll answer within a month. If you’re not happy with how I handle it, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), datatilsynet.dk.
