Hi, I’m Emma.
I’ve always loved exploring new places: a new city, a new neighbourhood, a bakery worth crossing town for before ten.
I’m American. I lived in Chicago for years, and now I live in Copenhagen. Somewhere along the way, friends and family started asking for my lists before every trip. Where to eat, where to stay, what to skip. I’ve been sending them for years.
Emma Irene Collective is where I share them with everyone, so you can travel the way I do: like you live there.

What I look for
More than dinner.
Food
Where it started. The table I'd book, the dish I'd order, the bakery worth crossing town for before ten.
Rooms
Hotels, cafés, homes. How a place is lit, what the chairs are like, why some rooms make you want to stay.
Buildings
Old warehouses, quiet courtyards, a museum you go to for the building as much as the art.
Getting lost
Walking a city with no plan after lunch. Most of my favourite places I found that way.
How I work
Only places I’ve been.
Every place in a guide is one I’ve been to myself, more than once if I could. If I haven’t found something good, I’ll say so instead of guessing.
