Where I'd eat in Copenhagen
The city I live in now. Cardamom buns before nine, a swim in the harbour if the sun is out, and dinner somewhere with candles on every table.

Islands Brygge
The best pain au chocolat in Copenhagen. On a sunny day the back courtyard has this old industrial Islands Brygge feel that I love.
- 02 · Bakery$
Sankt Peders Bageri
Indre By
The oldest bakery in the city, and it still tastes like it.
- 03 · Coffee$
Coffee Collective
Nørrebro
Serious coffee without anyone being serious about it.
- 04 · Eat & Drink$$
Torvehallerne
Indre By
Two glass halls of food. Easy lunch, and you'll leave with snacks.
- 05 · Eat & Drink$$$
Barr
Christianshavn
Old warehouse on the canal, candles everywhere. My answer for a proper dinner.
- 06 · Drinks$$
Ved Stranden 10
Indre By
A wine bar that feels like someone's very good living room.

Before you land
The small things I wish someone had told me, so you don’t spend your first hour on Reddit.
- 1From the airport, take the metro (M2). It runs around the clock and you're in the centre in about 15 minutes. The train to Central Station is just as quick.
- 2Buy your ticket in the DOT Tickets app before you get on. There are no gates, but inspectors do check, and the fine is steep. Airport to the centre is three zones.
- 3Everyone bikes. Rent one for a day (Donkey Republic has bikes all over the city), stay in the bike lane, and signal with your hand before you stop.
